
Anthony David Gonzalez was conceived in Torrance on February 27th, 1976. He grew up in southern California and was a student at Huntington Beach High School, which was where he excelled as a player on the football and basketball teams. Gonzalez excelled in these sports at the University of California, Berkeley. He helped lead the team in football to the 1996 Aloha Bowl, where he broke the record of the school bowl with nine receptions. Gonzalez helped lead the basketball team to the Sweet 16 of NCAA basketball tournament just a few months after. After graduation from high school in 1997, he was selected for the NFL Draft. The Kansas City Chiefs selected Gonzalez as the 13th overall pick. Gonzalez was part of the Chiefs from 1997 to 2008. Gonzalez was transferred to the Atlanta Falcons. In his second season in the NFL the team never managed to catch less than 59 of them in a season.
