
Suzanne Pleshette (January 31, 1937 from 1937 to January 19th 2008) was an American theatre, film television, voice actress. Pleshette began her career in theatre, and appeared in films towards the end of the 1950s. She later appeared in a number of notable films, including Rome Adventure (1962), Alfred Hitchcock's The Birds (1963), or Spirited Away (192001). Then, she was in several television productions and was often acting as a guest. She was Emily Hartley in The Bob Newhart Show, from 1972 until 1978, in which she earned many Emmy Award nominations. Pleshette, a daughter of Geraldine (nee Kaplan),[1 and Eugene Pleshette, was born on the 31st of January 1937 in Brooklyn Heights. Her parents were Jewish as were the children of emigrants from Russia and Austria-Hungary.Her mother was an artist and dancer who performed under the stage name Geraldine Rivers. Her father was the stage director at the Paramount Theater, Manhattan, and the Paramount Theater, Brooklyn.
